Craigie

Open Gardens Victoria will open Craigie for the first time on the first weekend of February, 2025. Located in the historically significant precinct of Soldiers Hill, Craigie is the beautiful home and expansive garden of owners David and Maria Cook. The gardens harmonise with the heritage home, creating a perfect blend of history and nature. Visitors will appreciate the balance of practical, aesthetic, and timeless elements throughout the garden.

In early 2019, large parts of the front and north side garden and rear courtyard were updated and renovated by Paddy Milne. A formal style was maintained, including layered hedges, an open lawn area, and stepping stone pathways to connect spaces. The secluded, private courtyard provides a peaceful escape.

The Oaks and Craigie are located on the lands of the Wadawurrung people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
