Garden of Hope
The Garden of Hope in Templestowe is a vibrant, evolving 1600m2 landscape created by garden designer and former oncologist Jacquie Chirgwin, whose passion for gardening grew from a career of nurturing others. Her thoughtfully designed garden, filled with salvias, euphorbias, agastaches, nepeta, geums, echinaceas and grasses, is opening for one day only in December and again in April 2026, showcasing the variety within the garden across two different seasons. Visitors can explore curated colour zones, especially pink tones that bring harmony and seasonal interest. Clipped forms and layered perennial add year-round rhythm.
With a long career in oncology behind her, Jacquie understands how meaningful gardens and natural spaces can be for people facing difficult times. It’s this connection that inspires her to open her garden to the public and raise funds for Breast Cancer Trials. Please note: This garden will also open Sunday April 19, 2026 (10am-4.30pm). Tickets for both days (December 7, 2025 and April 19, 2026) are $18 for adults. A portion of the entry price will be donated to Breast Cancer Trials.
