A day in the garden at Mount Mitchell Estate

Join this immersive full-day gardening experience and discover the historic grounds of National Trust listed Mount Mitchell Estate (circa 1838) with horticulturalist, educator and property owner Kate Tol.

Start the day with a guided tour of the various garden spaces, including ornamental, formal, rose, kitchen gardens, orchards, parklands, and historic outbuildings. Delve into the seasonal changes and challenges of gardening under the guidance of a passionate green thumb. Get your hands dirty with practical activities such as planting, pruning, propagating and hedging, whilst getting tips from Kate on how to be an efficient, effective and well-planned gardener.

You will be given exclusive access to the pool house kitchen where you’ll learn how to make sensational scones, and the gardener’s cottage will educate and inspire you to apply your new-found knowledge to your garden at home.

Catering will be provided by the local Country Women’s Association.
