Behind a Boston Ivy-covered wall in a quiet Brighton street lies Cherubino’s Garden, a refined, architecturally integrated sanctuary opening to the public for the first time October 2025 with Open Gardens Victoria. Designed by Eckersley Garden Architecture, this thoughtfully designed garden is a seamless extension of a beautifully updated 1950s home.
Visitors are welcomed by a striking sliding gate that transforms into a sculptural wall, setting the tone for the elegant detailing throughout. The spectacular ‘barn silhouette’ carport with soaring roof, dominates the entrance. Japanese Elms, Clivia, Star Jasmine and Forest Pansies create a calm, dappled welcome, while lush underplantings of violets, hellebores, and ferns add texture and seasonal interest.
From the shady, layered driveway garden to the rear entertaining space with its bespoke pizza oven and vine-covered pergola, every area is carefully considered. A rejuvenated mid-century pool with its original diving board is now framed by travertine, magnolias and tropical-style plantings, giving the space a relaxed, resort-like feel.
With sculptural trees, intimate garden rooms and a quiet elegance, Cherubino’s Garden is a rare opportunity to explore a masterfully resolved residential garden where landscape and lifestyle exist in perfect harmony.
