Finch's Nest

Tucked away at the end of a quiet court, in the charming West Gippsland township of Drouin, Finch’s Nest is a tranquil 1.2-acre garden brimming with charm, colour, and plant diversity. Known for its rolling hills and welcoming community, Drouin provides the perfect backdrop for this peaceful garden setting.

Opening to the public for the first time on 4 & 5 October 2025 as part of Open Gardens Victoria, this lovingly reimagined space invites visitors to explore its richly layered beauty.

Originally landscaped over 35 years ago and formerly known as Baw Baw Manor, the garden has been thoughtfully transformed by current owners Carolyn Fuller and Bill de Vink. Mature trees such as blue spruce, weeping birch and camellias form the backbone of a relaxed, informal layout filled with perennials, grevilleas, clivias, and seasonal bulbs.

Visitors will enjoy sweeping lawns, winding brick paths, and distinctive garden ‘rooms’ including a fernery, rose garden, an azalea bank, and productive veggie patch. The garden’s evolving design reflects the owners’ passion for plants and their playful, responsive approach to gardening. With spectacular views to the Baw Baw ranges and plenty of quiet corners, Finch’s Nest is a peaceful retreat and a must-visit for garden lovers.
