Nestled into the hillside of the Dandenong Ranges, this tranquil garden is located just five minutes drive from the picturesque village of Olinda.
Gaythorpe Garden is the relaxed and romantic private garden of landscape designer Simon Gaythorpe. Simon has spent nearly 30 years transforming a former cow paddock into a spectacular one-hectare haven. The garden features dozens of rare and unusual flowering shrubs and trees. Meandering paths topped with sawdust are soft underfoot and lead the visitor along the contours of the sloping site, always keeping the next corner of the garden a mystery.
Tea and coffee will be available at the opening, and visitors are welcome to find a peaceful spot to sit and take in the views.
Tickets are available online via TyBooking: https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1257081
Gaythorpe Garden is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
