On the wild west coast of New Zealand’s North Island, beneath the towering volcanic peak of Mt Taranaki, a unique celebration of sustainability, gardens and community innovation is returning October 31 to November 16, 2025.

Taranaki Sustainable Trails 2025 invites visitors to discover 42 private properties and over 50 events across the region, ranging from flourishing edible gardens and regenerative farms to innovative eco-builds and inspiring community projects. Set in one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most scenic regions, where lush gardens flourish in volcanic soil, surf beaches meet rolling farmland, and vibrant arts communities thrive, the trails offer an insider’s view into how locals are living more sustainably.
