Re-Wilding is the second solo exhibition by the artists Annelies Jahn and Jane Burton Taylor, who work collaboratively as land or eco artists. The exhibition will be held at Chrissie Cotter Gallery in Camperdown, Sydney, from June 26 to July 13. Building on their 2022 show Tethered, exhibited at the Incinerator Art Space in Willoughby, the eco-minded duo were compelled to explore the gallery site’s original plant community – Sydney turpentine-ironbark forest. Re-wilding delves into the history, ecology and restoration of this endangered ecological community, serving as an act of care for the place they call home and as a way to reconnect with its deep-rooted past.
Dates: June 26 to July 13 (Wednesday to Sunday, 11am-4pm)
Opening event: Saturday June 28 (1.30 – 3.30pm) to be opened by Karen Smith, the Aboriginal Education Officer of the Aboriginal Heritage Office, Freshwater, NSW.
