The Great Trentham Spudfest

The Great Trentham Spudfest returns in May, celebrating people, produce and region in the heart of Victoria’s spa country. Now in its 19th year, this much-loved festival attracts more than 10,000 visitors to the historic village of Trentham, where fertile red volcanic soils have produced exceptional potatoes since the 1860s.
Saturday’s Street Fair transforms the town centre into a vibrant festival hub, featuring spud-inspired dishes, local produce, makers’ market stalls, live music and the ever-popular Spud Olympics. Meet local growers, purchase freshly harvested potatoes direct from the source, and explore the region’s agricultural history through guided tours of the heritage-listed Spud Huts.
New for 2026, the program expands with a larger Kids’ Zone offering free potato puppet shows and hands-on spud art, plus an additional live music stage showcasing local talent.
After dark, Spudfest Up Late presents a cheeky burlesque ‘carbaret’, while the Spudfest Cèilidh returns with Celtic music, dancing and loads of laughter. Local chef Harry Gibbs will also showcase Trentham’s famous potatoes with a special four-course tasting menu at Ensemble.
On Sunday, Discovery Day invites visitors to explore beyond the main street, with open farm gates, artist studios, garden gatherings, workshops, tastings and neighbouring towns joining the celebrations.
Come for the spuds and stay for the warm country hospitality at this uniquely Trentham celebration.
