Tipsy Hill is an extensive garden evocative of Mediterranean landscapes with a characteristically Australian flavour. Set high on a hill surrounded by vineyards, the garden offers picturesque views of the valley and Willunga Hills.
Bec Hardy purchased the property, including the vineyard, eight years ago. Now that her young family is living there, the garden has been adapted to suit their needs. Gardener Marian McDuie has made several changes to enhance the garden’s climate compatibility and water efficiency. Winding paths and steps link several almost secret areas with seating spots positioned to take advantage of the magnificent views. Tall pines and the numerous trees on the property shelter many bird species that call the garden home.
