Propagate devil’s ivy

Story by

Vine-like devil’s ivy (Epipremnum aureum) is one of the most versatile and easiest of all the indoor plants to grow. It’s also very easy to propagate when you want to increase your collection.

1. SNIP off a few pieces of vine (any length will do), and cut off their excess stems at the base, just below a node (a leaf joint).

2. REMOVE two or three of the lower leaves, and place the bases of the cuttings in a jar of water.

3. PLACE the jar in a warm, bright spot, but not in the sun. In a couple of weeks, roots will form at the nodes.

4. PLANT rooted stems into a pot filled with premium potting mix, add a sprinkle of slow-release fertiliser, water well, and display your new plant in a warm, bright spot indoors.
