From small urban gardens to rooftop plantscapes, these award-winning designs highlight the remarkable creativity and skill of Australia’s landscape designers.
The Landscape Design Institute (LDI) has announced the winners of the 2025 National Landscape Design Awards. Presented in September at a celebration held at Terrace on the Domain, overlooking Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, the awards recognised excellence across residential, commercial, community, and plantscape design.
This year’s awards attracted an impressive 84 entries across 11 categories, submitted by 26 LDI member companies and designers, showcasing a diverse range of project types and creative approaches.
An expert judging panel assessed each entry against clearly defined criteria, evaluating projects on their individual merit. Those that met or exceeded the required scoring threshold were accredited as award-winning.
Here are three of the 2025 major award winners:
‘Peninsula Project’ designed by Steve Taylor, COS Design
Landscape Designer of the Year – Residential Design

‘Pyrmont Skygarden’ by Adam Robinson, Adam Robinson Design
Landscape Designer of the Year – Plantscape

‘Grounds of Glossodia’ by Mitchell Kushturian, Exotic Living
Emerging Landscape Designer of the Year
