Talk, Tour and Tea at the Clunes Presbytery House and Garden

September 28, 2024
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
$80
Clunes Presbytery

Come and enjoy a fine tea experience at the Clunes Presbytery, built circa 1905, and explore the Edwardian house and garden with arts and crafts features.

Overlooking Victoria’s first ‘gold’ town, Clunes, The Presbytery was built in 1905 and has been lovingly restored by owners Dr Kevin Lee and Daniel Cronin, the main landscaper. Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, the half-acre garden consists of a number of beautiful rooms with distinct and naturalistic plantings that enhance both the history and the terrain of the site.

Kevin’s passion is medicinal plants, and the intimate garden rooms are filled with plants inspired by the gardens of the Royal College of Physicians in London. There are over 100 different herbs and medicinal plants included, many of which have links to modern medicines used in hospitals today.

The event includes a house and garden tour with a focus on the use of herbal and medicinal plants, a chance to purchase unique plants and vintage wares, and most importantly, savour a blend of tea with cakes and biscuits in the comfort of a home furnished with the period elegance and warmth.

Two sessions:
Session 1: 10.00am – 12.00pm (Morning tea)
Session 2: 2.00pm – 4.00pm (Afternoon tea)

Tickets are available online via TryBooking: https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1271858

The Presbytery is located on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
